Turquoise Mountain is a non-profit, non-governmental organization specializing in urban regeneration, business development, and education in traditional arts and architecture. It seeks to provide jobs, skills, and a renewed sense of national pride to Afghan men and women. Turquoise Mountain is regenerating the historic commercial center of Kabul, Murad Khane, as a landmark project with economic, social, cultural, and political benefits. It has also established a Higher Education Institute of Afghan Arts and Architecture, where some of the country's greatest master craftsmen train students in woodwork, calligraphy, and ceramics. The Institute actively recruits women and offers classes in literacy, English, and business in addition to the craft curriculum. Turquoise Mountain operates in partnership with the Murad Khane community, the Municipality of Kabul, and the Ministries of Urban Development, Culture, and Labor. The President of Afghanistan and the Prince of Wales are patrons of the Foundation.

Schools For Kabul is constantly in contact with Turquoise Mountain and Rory Stewart in order to plan our next projects together. Turquoise Mountain is always working in different areas of reconstruction, whether it is economic or educational, and as a result we are learning as we move through each project. We fundraise money for each project and send it directly to Turquoise Mountain ensuring that 100% of our funds are put to a good use. We reach out within our community to educate and spread awareness about Afghanistan and the desperate state that it is in.
